About MMOTA-Founding Chapter
Welcome
to the Massachusetts Mothers of Twins Association-Founding Chapter
(MMOTA-Founding Chapter)! Currently, our membership includes over 200+ mothers of twins, triplets and
quadruplets, and our ranks are growing every
day. Some of our members even have two sets of twins!
Founded in 1956 by the late Rita Lewis of Arlington, MMOTA-Founding Chapter
is the original chapter of the state organization known as the Massachusetts
Mothers of Twins Association (www.mmota.org).
MMOTA-Founding Chapter's objective is to provide support to mothers of
twins, triplets and higher-order multiple births (MOTs). Toward that
objective, meetings and other activities are held for the purpose of sharing information and
advice pertaining to raising multiple-birth children.
Through MMOTA-Founding Chapter meetings and
events, you will find sound advice, support and friendship from "seasoned"
MOTs who have “been there and done that!” No one knows the trials and
tribulations of raising two or more children at a time than does another MOT.
Among the many benefits of membership are the
following:
General (Club) Meetings are held on the
last Monday of the month
during September through May.
Click here for more information and directions to General Meetings.
Cope Meetings are informal monthly meetings in members' homes where
issues ranging from breastfeeding to potty training to discipline and more
are discussed. To learn more about these support meetings, call the TWINLINE at
781-989-3222 and leave your name and telephone number or
Board Meetings are held on the second Monday of the
month. Attending these meetings is a great way to learn about how our club works
and to become more involved in club events and activities. Big/Little Sister
matches an experienced, “seasoned” MOT with a
new MOT to provide some one-on-one advice and support.

October and April. These sales are Founding Chapter’s biggest events of
the year and are a great place to find terrific bargains on clothing, toys
and equipment as well as to become acquainted with other MOTs.

more more information on our Sales Monthly Newsletters
are an important feature to our members, especially to those who are not
able to attend meetings or events regularly. As a Founding Chapter member,
you will receive our newsletter, Double Exposure, and you will find
reports about the most recent happenings for Founding Chapter and
reminders of upcoming events. As a member you will also receive the
NOTMOC national newsletter, Notebook.
Members-Only Website Area
is available only to paid members of Founding Chapter. This area is where our members communicate, learn, find
information on upcoming events and share personal events.
All of these programs are just a few of the ways we share what we own and what we have learned
firsthand about raising more than one child at a time. Please feel free to join us! We always
welcome MOTs-to-be, new MOTs and experienced MOTs to all of our club's
events.
